Spiced turmeric Latte

Serves 2

500ml milk (any milk you like - cashew/oat etc)
1.5-2 cm piece fresh turmeric
1/2 teaspoon Chai Mountain Masala
honey to taste (or maple syrup for Vegan)

Pour the milk into a medium sized sauce pan, roughly crush the turmeric, add to the milk along with the sweet infusing spice.  Put the pan on a slow heat and gently bring to a strong simmer, don’t allow the milk to boil.  Turn off the heat, strain the infused milk into two mugs and sweeten with honey or maple syrup to taste.

If you don’t have fresh turmeric you can use a scant ½ teaspoon of ground dry turmeric, be careful though it can be bitter.
